Christmas is an affront to the Holiness and the Glory of God

As a cage is full of birds (Jer 5:27), so the Christian community is full of deceit, and the Christmas celebration is just one example of the deception of this age (2 Tim 3:1-5).

Christmas is a ‘holy’ day for the ungodly ‘mainstream Christian church’ and a holiday for much of the world. But it is not mentioned in Scripture and it is not one of the feasts of the Lord [יְהוָה], set out in Leviticus 23.

Its origins can be traced back to the ancient Roman and Norse civilizations. The early Christians appropriated it and attempted to sanctify what was originally a pagan festival. Before that, the people of ancient Europe had celebrations of the pagan god Saturn or even Odin at the end of December to mark the shortest day of the year.

Many of the Christmas traditions we have today come from these ancient festivals. Examples include kissing under the mistletoe and decorating trees. In pagan celebrations of the winter solstice, evergreens were used to symbolize life during the winter months. Many cultures believed that the trees could ward off evil spirits.

Christmas is pagan

It must be clear to all Christians that Christmas has pagan roots and is riddled with pagan tradition. ‘Santa Claus’ is a childhood idol. The words of the song, “He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good.” are an evil appropriation of the words of Proverbs 15:3: The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Despite this, for the vast majority of those who claim to be Christians, Christmas is supposed to be a day set aside to worship the Lord ‘in spirit and in truth’ in remembrance of His birth.

But, is this worship accepted by God?

Based on these two verses of Scripture alone, the answer must surely be ‘No’:

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Matthew 15:8-9)

We are commanded to flee from idolatry (1 Cor 10:14).

So why does most of the Christian world embrace Christmas?

“In vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Matthew 15:8)

A False Christ, loved by the World

The ‘Jesus’ of Christmas is just one of the many false Messiahs and false gods that prevail in the hearts of men (Ro 1:18-23).

The Christ of Christmas is loved by the world. He is in the songs sung in churches, on the radio, in the supermarket and at the school carol concert.

He is worshipped with manger scenes, Christmas trees, mistletoe and tinsel.

“He is the reason for the season.” He is indeed, because he is of the world.

Yeshua [יְהוֹשׁוּעַ] said to his disciples,

If you were of the world, the world would love its own. (John 15:19)

When you see a ‘Christ’ that is celebrated by  the world, you are looking at a Christ that is of  the world. The world loves its own. And ‘the world’ includes the ‘mainstream Christian world’, for they are of the world. And, if it is a ‘Christ’ of the world, it is a ‘Christ’ of the Devil, the ruler of the world (John 14:30; 1 John 5:19). The real Christ is not  of the world (John 17:14). The Christ of Christmas clearly is.

The world hates the true Christ (John 3:19-20) and crucified Him when He was here.

So many are lead astray, deceived, and simple-minded (Prov 14:15) because the term ‘Christ’ is used. But, just because the name ‘Jesus’ or ‘Christ’ is used, that does not mean the worship is as God requires, in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Paul spoke of ‘another Jesus’ in 2 Cor 11:4. Yeshua himself warned about false Christs in Matthew 24.

Christmas is about a false Christ. The spirit of Christmas (or the Yuletide spirit) is about a false spirit. It is not the Holy  Spirit of the real biblical Christ. If it was, it would be holy, undefiledseparate from the world (Heb 7:26). But it is not separate from the world; it is entrenched in both the heathen world and in ‘worldly’ Christianity.

The Christ of Christmas is demonic

In the Word of God, when there is a false god, it is identified as a demon. Paul writes

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. (1 Cor 10:20)

The celebration of Christmas is, in truth, idolatry, the worship of a false god. It is the celebration of a ‘Jesus’ that was never born Saviour of the world, never died on the cross for the sins of mankind, and never rose from the dead to live forevermore. He is an impostor that the world has gone after. A construct of Satan, who has deceived the whole world (Rev 12:9).

“The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.” (Prov 14:15)

The Christ of Christmas leads people down the wide path, the path that leads to destruction

Simply reading these verses whilst witnessing the world celebrate Christmas surely must throw up a ‘red flag’:

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

The Customs of the heathen are vain

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! Thy leaves are so unchanging;

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! Much pleasure thou can'st give me;

Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and  hammers, that it move not. (Jer 10:2-4)

“Narrow is the way, which leadeth to life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:14)

As we are told in Ecclesiastes 1.9, There is nothing new under the sun.

The idolatry of today is the same as the idolatry of yesteryear.

Psalm 24 asks,

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place? (Psalm 24:3)

The answer?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:4)

Many people do not realise how subtle and deceptive idolatry can be. For example, greed is idolatry (Col 3:5). That simple equation in the heart damns the soul. As it is written,

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (Eph 5:5)

Knowing that idolatry can be so deceptive and subtle, we need to be on our guard against it.

‘Though the Christ that is exalted at Christmas time appears to be the Christ of the bible, he is actually an idol. Christmas is nothing God's children should be participating in. As Paul wrote to the Corinthians,

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils. You cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons. (1 Cor 10:21)

I am the Lord [יְהוָה]: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. (Isa 42:8).

Men may think they can and try to mix the worship of the true living God with that of demons (Zep 1:5), but God says this is not acceptable. He takes no rivals.

Furthermore, worship incorporating the customs of men is ‘in vain’. And idolaters go into the lake of fire (Rev 21:8).

Idolatry is no small matter

“Little children, keep yourselves from idols.” (1 John 5:21)

Warnings from the Old Testament: ‘Strange fire’ and the ‘Sin of Jeroboam’

As Paul tells us in 1 Cor 10:5-11,

With many of [our fathers] God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come

One such example is that of the ‘strange fire’ offered by Nadab and Abihu, which clearly shows that we are not free to worship in any way we choose.

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not

And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

Then Moses said unto Aaron, ‘This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’ And Aaron held his peace. (Lev 10:1-3)

What is the problem here in Leviticus 10? Why is this worship rejected by the Almighty, and why did Nadab and Abihu die? Because they worshipped Him in a way in which He had not commanded.

“I will be sanctified in them that come near me.” (Lev 10:3)

Similarly, Jeroboam kept a feast on a date ‘plucked’ out of his own heart

And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.

So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense. (1 Ki 12: 32-33)

His judgment was severe:

But [thou] hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone. (1 Ki 14:9-10)

“Before all the people I will be glorified.” (Lev 10:3)

December 25th: a date ‘plucked’ from the heart of man

Not only is the date of Christmas a date of man’s choosing, but the calendar on which it is based is a construct of man

In fact, the World operates on a completely different ‘clock’ from the timepiece which God has established

God’s clock is set in the heavens, where man cannot tamper with it.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. (Gen 1:14)

He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. (Psalm 104:19)

In both of these verses, the Hebrew word for ‘seasons’ is ‘moedim’, meaning an appointment, a festival, an assembly.

Thus God’s appointed times are determined by the moon, since they are tied to the new moon which starts the biblical month in which they occur.

Instead of referencing God’s timepiece in the sky, with its new moons, sabbaths and appointed times, the Church’s Christmas ‘holi-day’ references the Gregorian calendar. It is a man-made construct using another man-made construct, the International Date Line. The International Date Line is an imaginary line ‘created’ in 1884 to standardize timekeeping across the globe. Since then it has been changed several times for reasons of political expediency.

“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and … and think to change times and laws.” (Da 7:25)

The Feasts of the Lord

The true feasts of Scripture are set out in Leviticus 23:

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. (Lev 23:1-4)

Seven feasts are listed, setting out the path to the redemption of our sinful nature:

From beginning to end, the moedim form a prophetic timeline:

  • Passover – Deliverance through the Lamb

  • Unleavened Bread – The removal of sin

  • First Fruits – Resurrection and new life

  • Shavuot (Pentecost) – Empowerment and the harvest

  • Trumpets – The announcement and awakening

  • Day of Atonement – Judgment and cleansing

  • Sukkot – the Lord dwelling with His people

Sukkot is the culmination of the redemptive plan — the moment when separation ends, when heaven and earth meet, and when the Creator dwells with His creation forever.

But Sukkot is more than a memorial of the past; it points prophetically to the future. Just as the Lord dwelt among His people in the wilderness, He will once again dwell among humanity in the age to come. The Hebrew name Sukkot literally means ‘booths’, foreshadowing the day when ‘the tabernacle of God is with men.’

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev 21:3-4)

Yeshua himself attended this feast (John 7:2, 14, 37) and used it to reveal profound truths about the Spirit and living water, elements tied to the restoration of all things.

Sukkot also foreshadows the final ingathering — the great harvest of souls into the Lord’s kingdom. It pictures the time when His people will dwell securely under His presence, and all creation will be renewed.

Men who love darkness rather than light are ‘self-condemned’, because their deeds are evil

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (John 3:16-20)

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isa 55:7)

The World and the ‘mainstream Christian church’ operates on a ‘liturgical’ calendar which deviates far from the redemptive calendar set out in Scripture

As discussed above, keeping a feast on a date ‘plucked’ out of man’s heart is not without precedent. We have been given an example so that we know that deviating from the appointed times set out in Scripture, and making up our own ‘un-appointed times’, is sin.

Yet the ‘mainstream Christian church’ is marching to a calendar that bears little resemblance to the calendar of Scripture.

It is marching to an entirely different tune, one that can only come from Satan.

God does not change

God does not change (Mal 3:6). He explicitly commands,

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. (Prov 4:27)

We are commanded to follow His Word and go neither to the right or the left of what He says

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. (Heb 13:9)

The celebration of Christmas is “strange” to the Word of God. It is foreign to holy writ.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life…”

(John 5:24)

We are commanded to worship in Spirit and in Truth

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

The Lord of all the earth’ (Josh 3:11) requires (“must”) that we worship Him “in . . . truth.” He does not accept those who do otherwise.

As it is written,

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. (Rev 22:13-15)

Christmas is a lie

'Advent' heralds the coming of a False Messiah

The good and acceptable will of God

Paul wrote

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Ro 12:1-2)

“… How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” (John 5:44)

How do we ‘prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God’? By not being ‘conformed to this world’ and living a holy life according to His Word.

Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy. (Lev 19:2)

God has called His people to ‘abhor that which is evil’ (Ro 12:9) ‘and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them’ (Eph 5:11).

It is not holy to follow after the practices of the world in the worship of God. The Lord warned the Israelites in Deuteronomy 12 of this very thing.

These are the statutes and judgments which ye shall observe to do in the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live on the earth. You shall utterly destroy all the places wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains and upon the hills and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods and destroy the  names of them out of that place. Ye shall not do so unto the Lord your God. (Deut 12:1-4)

It is quite obvious the Lord did not want Israel to have anything to do with false gods or anything connected to them. He wanted such things destroyed. And, He specifically says,

Ye shall not do so unto the Lord your God. (Deut 12:4)

Do what? Worship God in the way the pagans worship their gods.

God does not want to be worshipped in the manner of the false religions. He wants to be worshipped in accordance to His Word.

“O Lord, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.” (Jer 16:19)

Come out of her my people

The ‘mainstream Church’ is propagating idolatry and endorsing many practices which contravene the Word of God. Yeshua exhorts His People to come out of it, lest they are judged with it:

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (Rev 18:4)

Those who are following this ‘Church’ and participating in its ‘calendar’, including Christmas, are ignoring the call to come out

“Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” (Rev 14:7)

The pastors are destroying the flock and scattering the sheep

Jeremiah 23:

Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.

And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord. (Jer 23:1-4)

Jeremiah 5:

Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. (Jer 5:22-23)

“Among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, … they set a trap, they catch men.As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit.” (Jer 5:26-27)

‘My people’ love to have it so

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? (Jer 5:30-31)

We are warned of this in 2 Timothy:

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Tim 3:1-5)

They will not endure sound doctrine

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Tim 4:1-4)

“But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.” (1 Tim 4:7)

Be ye astonished, O ye heavens

Forcing our Creator to ‘share His glory’ with Santa Claus and the False Christ of the world, on a random day on the Gregorian Calendar, is an insult. It is an affront. It is an insult that must surely stun heaven.

Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord.

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. (Jer 2:11-14)

People who commit idolatry are ‘lawless’. Being ‘without the law’ is not a good place to be.

Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23)

Ii understand that dec 25th is the supppsed 'son gods' birthday. I havent read much of this article, but i believe dec 25th is satans play thing, and not Christian at all. Jesus could not have been born around that time of the year, according to where the shepherds w ere, in that part of the world.
